In January 2021, Hai Phong Customs Department collected VND5,004 billion, reaching 8.94% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (VND56,000 billion), 8.64% of the target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs (VND57,900 billion), an increase of 22.03% year-on-year.

The revenue in Hai Phong area was VND4,421 billion, reaching 8.93% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance, 8.7% of the target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, an increase of 26.8% year-on-year.

Among nine customs branches, Hai Phong Customs Branch of Zone 1 is the first branch that collected VND1,000 billion or more (collected VND1,355 billion, reaching 8.22% of the target).

The revenue of Hai Phong Customs Department prospered thanks to a sharp increase of 39.4% in total import-export turnover, reaching nearly US$7.75 billion.

In which, export turnover reached more than US$3.75 billion, up 44.9%year-on-year; taxable export turnover reached US$15.23 million, up 81.8%.

Import turnover was nearly US$4 billion, up 34.5% year-on-year; taxableimported turnover was nearly US$1.53 billion, up 28.4%.

Notably, the import turnover of items showed strong growth, such as automobilesof US$68.22 million, up 58.6%;auto spare parts and components of US$30.18 million, up 129.8%; motorbikesof US$0.58 million, up 2.2%; motorcycle spare parts of US$1.55 million, up 28.5%; petroleum products of US$72.14 million, up 124.2%; alcohol of US$4.09 million, up 249.5%; iron and steel of US$151.5 million, up 6.8%; cosmetics of US$0.45 million, up 143.1%; machinery and equipment of US$342.85 million, up 2.5%.
