The top concerns of this group, described as those aged between 11 and 26, are that technology would make their roles redundant and that they would not have the right skills and would not be able to learn them, the survey released Wednesday by accounting firm PwC Vietnam said.

In other age groups the same concerns exist in 6 percent among millennials (27-41 years) and 5 percent among Gen X (42-61), the survey, which polled 1,146 people, including 461 Gen Z members, last November and December said.

Forty six percent of Gen Z respondents said they are looking to businesses and the government to play the main role in helping people improve their skills.

"While young Vietnamese people are tech-savvy, many still lack formal technical training and soft skills that are necessary to keep up with the fourth industrial revolution," the survey said.

Eighty percent of Gen Z expect remote work to be the new norm and 57 percent of working Gen Z said they were productive while working from home, the highest of any age group.
