Under the agreement, inked at a conference in Ho Chi Minh City, the parties will develop hyperscale data center infrastructure in Vietnam, leveraging artificial intelligence and cloud computing to serve both domestic and international markets.
The partners plan to jointly invest in, build, and operate large-scale, international-standard data centers located in Vietnam, forming a platform to deliver digital technology services to the public sector, enterprises, and international partners.
The hyperscale data center project represents a strategic step for Vietnam to deepen its participation in the global digital infrastructure value chain and gradually establish itself as a key regional hub for data and AI.
Developed in accordance with international standards, the facilities will meet growing demand for processing and storing massive volumes of data required for AI applications across both public and private sectors.
Backed by consumption commitments of up to $1 billion, the partnership marks a significant milestone in Vietnam’s and the region’s digital transformation journey.
Through the project, the parties aim to enable global data connectivity and exchange based on principles of safety and trust, while creating favorable conditions for technology companies, startups, and research organizations to collaborate and co-develop solutions.
The initiative is expected to create a significant number of high-quality jobs in technology, data, and AI, contributing to digital economic growth and long-term value creation for Vietnam. Through this cooperation, Vietnam has the opportunity to emerge as a major global destination for data and AI infrastructure.
Ali Al Amine, chief commercial officer of G42 International, said the framework agreement represents a new model for national AI transformation - one built on sovereignty, partnership, and shared purpose.
“We are grateful to the Government of Vietnam for its visionary leadership, and to our partners, FPT Corporation and Viet Thai Group, for their commitment to building infrastructure that enables Vietnam to harness AI’s full potential while maintaining data sovereignty and digital independence,” he said.
Chairman of FPT Corporation Truong Gia Binh emphasized that Vietnam clearly understands it cannot advance alone. “In areas such as semiconductors, AI, cloud computing, big data, and cybersecurity, we need strategic alliances with trusted partners. Leaders have demonstrated strong commitment, built mutual trust, and now it is time to turn those commitments into real implementation,” he said.
“This initiative positions Vietnam at the forefront of AI-driven economic development in Asia, supporting economic growth and the expansion of the middle class,” said David Thai, chairman and CEO of Viet Thai Group. “Our partnership with G42 and FPT lays a strong infrastructure foundation for long-term growth and innovation across multiple sectors.”
G42 is a technology holding group and a global leader in AI, headquartered in Abu Dhabi and operating worldwide. The group champions AI as a force for positive impact across industries and possesses global-scale AI infrastructure deployment capabilities. G42 has directly developed Stargate UAE, a next-generation AI infrastructure cluster with a total capacity of up to 1 GW, supporting national- and global-scale AI computing needs.
FPT is a global technology conglomerate headquartered in Vietnam, providing services in information technology, telecommunications, and digital transformation. Its two AI factories, located in Japan and Vietnam, ranked 36th and 38th respectively in the TOP500 High Performance Computing systems announced in June 2025, reinforcing Vietnam’s technological capabilities and FPT’s position on the global AI landscape.
Founded in 1998, Viet Thai Group is one of Vietnam’s largest consumer and retail operators, managing a diverse portfolio of brands across coffee, food and beverage, and fast-moving consumer goods. Its network includes more than 2,000 retail outlets operating in 30 countries.
