Acknowledging Haiphong's remarkable industrial growth, FPT Group chairman Truong Gia Binh expressed regret over FPT’s modest engagement in the city's tech and education sectors.

"Our presence in Haiphong hasn't been as profound as in other major cities, and we are keen on rectifying this," the chairman admitted.

Envisioning a tech-forward future for Haiphong in sectors like semiconductors, AI, and chip manufacturing, Binh highlighted the necessity of cultivating human resources and technological expertise.

"Investing in these foundational aspects is pivotal for the city's present and future technological advancements," he noted.

FPT Group plans to develop a sprawling 10-20 hectare Education, Science, and Technology complex in Haiphong. This facility, encompassing educational institutions from kindergarten to university level, and including software production units, mirrors FPT's commitment seen in other provinces.

"We are eager to replicate our educational and technological model in Haiphong, similar to our successful ventures in other key regions," he stated.

Focusing on digital transformation, FPT’s investment will target five critical areas, namely creating a digital government framework, implementing Haiphong's Digital Transformation Project 06, advancing digital healthcare and education, and enhancing IT infrastructure.

Binh said, "As a collaborator with global tech giants, FPT is poised to propel Haiphong's development strategies and facilitate its outreach to international markets."

FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa proposed a joint venture with Haiphong to develop FPT's educational system and digital transformation initiatives.

"Our vision for a comprehensive educational and technological complex aligns with Haiphong’s ambition to nurture a skilled workforce, supporting emerging industries like semiconductors and chip testing," Khoa elaborated.
