Vietnam has followed with keen interest the developments in the East Sea following news that a group of Chinese vessels had entered Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the waters, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Hang was responding to reporters’ questions regarding the news in Hanoi on April 15. 

Vietnam requests that countries fully observe international laws in their activities, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982), contributing to peace, stability and cooperation in the East Sea, Hang said.
