A Vietnamese citizen has contracted the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Singapore, according to an announcement issued by the Singapore Ministry of Health on April 13.

The statement notes that a 36-year old male Vietnamese national who is in the country on a labour visa has tested positive for the COVID-19.
At present, the man is receiving treatment at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in the island nation.
As of April 13, there have been 2,918 COVID-19 cases, with nine fatalities recorded in Singapore.
