The largest export turnover was recorded in coffee with US$425 million, up 110%, followed by fruit and vegetables with US$151 million, up 5.8%, and rice with US$143 million, up 48%.

Most notably, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee soared by 74% to US$5,694 per tonne, while the export price of rice decreased by 25% to US$514.5 per tonne.

Throughout the reviewed period, Vietnam earned US$60 million from exporting cassava and cassava products, up 83%, while pepper and tea exports also rose by 82% and 28% to US$41 million and US$4 million, respectively.

Cashew nuts was the only item to witness a decrease in turnover compared to the same period last year with US$63 million, down 1.1%.

Meanwhile, Vietnam spent US$486 million on importing farm produce from foreign markets, up 12.5% year on year. The largest turnover was recorded in cashew nuts with US$125 million, up 162%, followed by milk and dairy products with US$74 million, up 200%, and fruit and vegetables with US$94 million, up 76%.

In contrast, the import turnover of wheat fell by 0.9% to US$95 million, while corn and soybeans imports decreased by 59.9% and 34% to US$63 million and US$33 million, respectively.
