Thick snow continued to fall on Fansipan Mountain in northern Vietnam overnight February 9, leaving the peak covered in a blanket of snow.

The impact of a sudden cold spell across the northern region caused the temperature at the Fansipan Mt. peak to drop to minus three degrees Celsius on February 9.

Many places on the mountain peak are left covered in snow up to 30cm thick. The arrival of the wintery conditions serves to excite both locals and tourists, especially when the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, is three days away.

Every corner of the peak is left blanketed in snow.

Heavy snowfall can be seen on the route leading to the mountain peak.

Roofs are left covered in heavy snow, with some places even seeing snow 40cm thick.

Each hour snow on the mountain grows thicker. Pictured is the scene at 9am on February 9.

The wintery conditions leave the peak engulfed in a blanket of white snow.

Bushes, the branches of trees, and grass are left frozen due to heavy snowfall throughout the mountain.

The entire pagoda located at the peak of Fansipan experiences snowy conditions.

Fansipan’s peak is open to visitors over the Tet period this year.
