Large-scale industrial development space
After the merger, Gia Lai now has two EZs and 13 IPs, forming a large industrial development space with strong regional and international connectivity.
In the east, Nhon Hoi EZ spans more than 14,300 ha, while its network of 11 IPs creates a coastal gateway with direct links to Quy Nhon Port, Phu Cat Airport, Dieu Tri Railway Station, and the expressway system. Meanwhile, the Le Thanh International Border Gate EZ covers more than 41,500 ha and serves as a trade gateway with Cambodia, Laos, and northeastern Thailand, connecting to the East-West economic corridor.
The integration of seaports, international border gates, major transport networks, and raw material areas has created a relatively complete value chain from manufacturing and processing to logistics and exports. This gives Gia Lai a strong advantage in developing processing industries, supporting industries, logistics, and import-export services.

In addition to building on these strengths, the province plans to develop 20 new IPs by 2030, covering nearly 6,900 ha, creating significant capacity for large-scale, high-tech projects and domestic and foreign investment.
EZs and IPs are playing an increasingly important role as engines of local economic growth. In 2025, revenue generated by businesses in EZs and IPs exceeded VND98,600 billion (US$4.11 billion), up nearly 29% from the previous year, while exports reached about US$1.765 billion, accounting for more than half of the province's total export value. In 2026, these indicators have continued to grow, making an important contribution to Gia Lai's goal of achieving double-digit GRDP growth.
Under its 2025-2030 development strategy, Gia Lai is selectively attracting projects in processing and manufacturing, logistics, renewable energy, digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and the semiconductor industry, sectors with high added value that align with green and sustainable development.
To achieve this goal, the province is prioritizing integrated technical infrastructure while strengthening links among seaports, airports, highways, railways, and IPs to reduce logistics costs and improve business competitiveness. Investment promotion is also becoming more targeted, focusing on corporations with strong financial capacity, advanced technology, and the ability to generate broader economic spillover effects, thereby steadily improving the quality of investment inflows.
Developing green industrial infrastructure
The province prioritizes projects that use advanced, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies, while applying strict environmental screening from the appraisal stage for investments with potential pollution risks.
This approach not only improves the quality of economic growth but also provides a foundation for Gia Lai to gradually develop eco-industrial parks that meet ESG standards and international sustainable development commitments.
Alongside infrastructure development, the province is also building an innovation ecosystem by strengthening links between businesses and research and training institutions to promote technology transfer, develop a highly skilled workforce, and gradually form high-tech industries for the future.
To maximize the effectiveness of its EZs and IPs, the Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority considers administrative reform a key solution for improving competitiveness and the investment climate. In 2025, the Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority ranked among the province's top performers in serving citizens and businesses, achieving high scores in transparency, application processing, online public services, and customer satisfaction.
In particular, processing times for many administrative procedures have been reduced by 30% to nearly 60%. Integrated procedures covering investment, construction, land, environmental, and fire safety approvals have shortened the overall processing period to about 38 days, compared with about 60 days previously.
At the same time, the province has fully implemented its electronic office model. All administrative records are digitized, and online payments are processed through the National Public Service Portal, reducing costs, improving transparency, and providing greater convenience for businesses. Administrative restructuring also continues with a leaner and more professional system focused on serving businesses.
Supporting businesses in overcoming challenges
At the beginning of 2026, the Provincial People’s Committee assigned seven IPs with remaining development capacity - Nhon Hoi (Zone A), Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh, Nhon Hoa, Hoa Hoi, Nam Pleiku, Binh Nghi, and Phu My - the target of attracting 57 projects with total registered investment of at least VND31,500 billion (US$1.31 billion). To achieve this goal, provincial leaders regularly meet with infrastructure developers to address issues related to site clearance, land pricing, fill materials, and infrastructure construction progress.
The province’s consistent approach is to work alongside businesses while encouraging infrastructure developers to take a more proactive role in accelerating infrastructure development, attracting secondary investment projects, and bringing industrial land into operation more quickly.
In the coming period, the Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority and provincial agencies will continue modernizing management practices with greater flexibility and more favorable conditions for projects that fully comply with legal requirements. The guiding principle is to shift from a regulatory mindset to one focused on support and service, viewing business success as a driver of local development.
Regarding proposals related to site clearance costs and fill materials, the province is reviewing adjustments to land price coefficients while facilitating business access to materials from designated mines, helping reduce investment costs and accelerate project implementation.
With integrated infrastructure development, decisive administrative reform, and strong support for investors, the Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority is steadily strengthening its role as the province’s leading investment promotion agency, helping create new growth centers and advancing Gia Lai’s goal of becoming a modern industrial, logistics, and service hub for the Central and Central Highlands regions.
