The administrative center of Kon Tum province

So far in the 2020-2025 period, significant advancements have made in the transportation infrastructure of Kon Tum province, thanks to the combined efforts of central and provincial investment budgets, as well as the dedication of local authorities. Numerous large-scale investment projects have been instrumental in integrating Kon Tum’s traffic system with national networks and facilitating connections with neighboring regions. The timely completion of these projects, particularly key initiatives, has increasingly drawn the attention of many companies. These companies are keen to explore investment opportunities in industrial production, agricultural development, and service sectors, especially in areas where Kon Tum holds potential advantages.

Remarkable projects that highlight the success of PMU include a road linking Ho Chi Minh Road to National Highway 24, bridges across the Dak Bla River like Bridge 1 and Bridge 3, a bridge linking Provincial Road 671 to National Highway 14 or regional transport routes connecting Kon Tum province with regional provinces like investing in construction, restoration and upgrading Provincial Road 676 connecting Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province with Son Tay, Son Ha districts of Quang Ngai province.

In addition to the transportation system, the province has also gradually improved the technical infrastructure, expanded the urban space of Kon Tum City with a synchronous and modern technical infrastructure planning, exploited the potential land fund, created investment resources for infrastructure development, helped boost the development of new urban areas and socioeconomic development of Kon Tum City with such projects as the land fund exploitation project for urban infrastructure development in the south of Dak Bla Bridge and the land fund exploitation project for infrastructure development at the Sports Center.

With the attention and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, PMU has focused on some solutions to speed up public investment disbursement by assigning responsibilities to agency leaders in charge; directly monitor every project, oversee the progress and fund disbursement of each project; and guide and urge construction contractors to focus on human resources and machinery to carry out construction.

At the same time, PMU has regularly met project management executive boards to promptly detect hard matters in operations and management; launched emulation movements to accelerate the disbursement progress of public investment plans; directed each PMU unit in conjunction with land compensation and site clearance panels to actively keep track of land compensation and site clearance; implemented acceptance procedures and arranged investment fund for contractors for accepted work; resolutely tightened discipline, intensified inspection and supervision, and resolutely handled violations in the course of project implementation.

Site clearance and project scale changes often cause investment projects to be behind schedule, not only projects invested by PMU but also others invested by investors across the province and the country. Therefore, to remove and resolve these matters, apart from founding compensation and site clearance panels to actively coordinate with relevant bodies in executing site clearance, PMU also recommends organizations and local authorities focus more on resolving problems in site clearance, ensure project progress and capital disbursement, and at the same time ensure rights for households with land reclaimed for projects.
