In the first nine months of 2026, southern Dong Nai city attracted nearly $2.4 billion in FDI, reaching almost 80% its annual target, with capital primarily focused on processing, manufacturing, supporting industries, and logistics.

During the same period, the local industrial production index increased by over 12% compared to the previous year, further affirming the role of industry in economic growth. FDI inflows into these sectors also open up opportunities for supply chain development and enhance linkages between foreign and domestic enterprises.

Since the beginning of the year, the southern city, which is located near Ho Chi Minh City,  has continuously welcomed numerous corporations, businesses, and diplomatic representatives exploring investment opportunities, focusing on planning potential, infrastructure advantages, and industrial development orientation.

Amidst the ongoing influx of foreign capital into the manufacturing sector, on October 10, 2026, OJI Group (Japan) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its aseptic carton packaging plant under the Oji Liquid Pak (OLP) brand at Dong Nai's Long Thanh High-Tech Industrial Park.

The project, with a total investment of $110 million, is located on a 57,000 m2 site, and is expected to commence operations in 2028. The plant specializes in producing aseptic carton packaging for the beverage and liquid food industry, with a maximum capacity of 8 billion cartons per year, and is expected to create over 200 new jobs.

Once operational, the plant will produce packaging for the beverage and liquid food industry in Vietnam, while also supporting OJI Group's supply network in Southeast Asia and international markets.
