This development marks a collaboration between the UTH and the business community to develop a modern and skilled workforce while bolstering the application of state-of-the-art technology.

The DCI aims to best avail of the strengths of both entities.

With over 35 years of providing high-quality human resource training for the transport and logistics sector, the UTH boasts a team of highly qualified experts with extensive experience, a vast network of local and international partnerships, and continuously improving infrastructure.

Deo Ca Group, with more than 38 years of experience in infrastructure development, has an advisory board comprising prominent politicians, leading experts from various fields, and a competent team of managers, engineers, and skilled personnel who have completed numerous domestic projects and are prepared to expand internationally through collaborations with foreign enterprises.

The DCI's objectives include conducting in-depth research activities, implementing new and sustainable technologies, providing highly trained personnel with practical knowledge and skills, and offering policy advice and development strategies.

The ceremony attracted the presence of the director general of the Vietnam Road Administration Nguyen Xuan Cuong.

In addition to providing scientific and technological services for the transport and logistics sector, the DCI will serve as a hub for organising seminars, addressing policy issues and workforce shortages, and improving training facilities. It will also collaborate with the government and relevant ministries to recommend policy changes.

According to Le Quynh Mai, vice chairwoman of Deo Ca Group's Board of Directors and vice director of the DCI, the institute will have a diverse team of lecturers, including experts with both domestic and international backgrounds.

By building strategic connections, the DCI aims to create a chain of services for the development of the transport sector.

“The DCI will focus on the four main tasks of providing practical, hands-on training to ensure that graduates emerge job-ready, conducting scientific research on the application of construction technology, offering consultations and project implementation, and fostering international collaborations with large global enterprises by identifying, screening, and importing training programmes and new technologies that are suitable for Vietnam's conditions,” said Mai.

The institute will soon invest in the establishment of critical laboratory facilities for the transport sector, such as wind tunnels and earthquake simulators, facilitating specialised experiments that have not yet been carried out in Vietnam to explore new materials.

These facilities will serve the research activities of the institute, Deo Ca Group, and other partners with similar needs.

With the motto Knowledge Creates Value and a strategic focus on networking to create a chain of services for the development of the transport sector, the Deo Ca Research and Training Institute aspires to become a reputable provider of scientific and technological services to the transport and logistics industries, both domestically and regionally.

It aims to further promote the scientific research activities of the UTH and boost technology transfer, particularly ahead of the construction of the urban railway and high-speed rail system in Vietnam.
