The central city of Da Nang will organise a special stimulus scheme aimed at boosting demand among consumers in the post-coronavirus period which is expected to see the participation of thousands of local businesses and shopping malls.

Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Ha Bac said this year's stimulus programme will primarily focus on helping consumers purchase high-quality goods at reasonable prices.
It will help local firms better introduce their products and promote brands, along with mitigating the impact caused by the novel coronavirus on production and business activities.
The scheme is part of a range of activities being held in response to the "Vietnamese people prefer to use Vietnamese goods" campaign and aims to contribute to strengthening the State agencies’ role in supporting domestic enterprises.
Most notably, this year’s event will feature the tourism stimulus programme that has been deployed in Da Nang to meet the demand for entertainment, shopping, and an authentic tourism experience among both residents and guests.
Bac stated that with a population of only over 1 million people, Da Nang welcomed approximately 9 million visitors last year, noting that additional promotional plans should be launched in an effort to meet the increasing demand among domestic travelers in the near future.
At present, 1,200 businesses nationwide have gone on to register their participation in the event, including 300 local firms in Da Nang, with total funding reaching VND603 billion. Roughly 244 promotional programmes are scheduled to be implemented between now and the end of the year.
