Customs effectively uses resources

At the online Talk show, Ms. Nguyen Minh Thao, Head of the Department for Business Environment and Competitiveness Studies- Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) said that compliance with the law is both the responsibility and obligation of enterprises.

From the Pilot Program to support and encourage enterprises to voluntarily comply with Customs law, the Customs authority also hopes that enterprises will proactively learn about policies and laws, prepare to comply with the law and help enterprises reduce costs.

According to Ms. Nguyen Minh Thao, the Customs authrity is a pioneer in risk management.

Accordingly, the Customs authority prepares resources and selects high-risk subjects to manage, thereby using human resources more effectively.

From the perspective of the business environment, the management by the Customs helps enterprises comply with the law to reduce the rate of goods inspection, document inspection, helping enterprises reduce costs, time, and risks.

Therefore, the implementation of the Pilot Program will spread to different specialized management areas, and exceed the expectations of the Customs and enterprises.

The competitiveness of the economy is also the business environment. Before deciding to implement investment activities, investors are always interested in whether the investment environment creates motivation for enterprises to invest and do business. The trade facilitation is most important factor.

For a country with a large openness like Vietnam, growth relies on exports, so the trade facilitation is an important pillar of the business environment.

Many international organizations consider trade facilitation a key factor in assessing a country's investment and business environment. The investment environment is reflected in the “health” and capacity of enterprises and the competitiveness of the economy.

The pilot program has brought benefits to both the Customs and businesses. Notably, enterprises gain many advantages.

When participating in the Program, enterprises will become more professional and proactive, thereby enhancing the image and position of enterprises, expanding partners, markets and making production and business activities more favorable.

The Pilot Program directly contributes to improving the business investment environment in Vietnam.

When the competitiveness of enterprises rises, the competitiveness of the economy also boosts.

Ms. Nguyen Minh Thao hopes that not only enterprises participating in the Program will be provided warnings and supported and by the Customs, but this will also be a platform to connect the Customs with enterprises, promoting the relationship between the management agency and enterprises.

This program will create momentum and become a driving force for the Customs to establish a common platform for all enterprises to refer to, thereby growing better influence.

Enterprises should proactively comply with the law

Regardless of whether they are small and medium-sized enterprises or large enterprises, they all want to comply with the law.

In order to comply with the law, Ms. Nguyen Minh Thao said that enterprises should be proactive. Not only the business leaders but also the officers in charge should be more responsible during the implementation process.

The provisions of the law should be more transparent and more unified, so that businesses may comply more easily. This is an important factor for both businesses and enforcement agencies. Additionally, communication and guidance also needs to be promoted.

Thao said that through this program, the Customs needs to disseminate important messages about the Program to businesses, so that small and medium-sized enterprises may access it.

In the near future, the Customs will officially launch the Program, expecting to expand the scope of the program, thereby allowing small and medium-sized enterprises to participate and enhancing effectiveness of policy compliance of businesses.
