Border guards operating in Bac Son commune of Quang Ninh province have detected a total of 33 Vietnamese citizens who were attempting to illegally enter the country from China.

Vietnamese nationals are put into quarantine following illegal entry  

Once discovered by border forces in Luc Phu village on the outskirts of Mong Cai city, each individual underwent a medical check-up before being immediately placed into quarantine in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The situation has occurred following the number of Vietnamese workers illegally entering the country from China via the Mong Cai border area increasing significantly in recent times, making it far more challenging for relevant agencies to ensure security and prevent the COVID-19 pandemic.

The past few months has seen border forces in Bac Son commune detect a total of 132 cases of illegal entry, arresting hundreds of people involved in illegal cross-border activities.
