The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has permitted transport companies to resume services to and from Da Nang after the coronavirus outbreak was brought under control in the central city.

According to a statement dated September 6, the MoT recommended that transport companies re-launch air, rail, waterway and land routes to and from Da Nang as of 00.00hrs September 7. 

The ministry asked transport companies to take preventive measures to keep the community safe after travel restrictions was lifted. All staff of transport companies and passengers were required to make health declarations, wear face masks, and wash their hand with sanitizer. 

For trips departing from Da Nang, transport companies were requested to arrange seats on vehicles in a way to ensure a safe distance between passengers.  

Da Nang has lifted social distancing since September 5 following the containment of the coronavirus outbreak. It has allowed eateries to reopen the door to customers but asked them to offer the takeaway service at the first phase. 

Earlier, Da Nang proposed the Ministry of Transport re-launch transport routes to and from the central city, in an effort to restore business production and ensure social security. 

Da Nang has become the epicenter of the country’s second coronavirus outbreak after the virus resurged in the city on July 27. It has registered nearly 400 positive cases, including 31 deaths.
