Foreign-invested enterprises such as Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd., Adidas R&D Center, and Saint Gobain have chosen to use rooftop solar power systems designed and operated by CMES.
Early this year, there have been a number of well-known textile enterprises that chose CMES as a partner, including Song Hong Garment JSC, which installed solar panels on the roof of its entire system of 20 factories that operate in Nam Dinh province.
The Song Hong 7 and Song Hong 10 factories are the first two rooftop projects for Song Hong Garment on its journey of greening its production activities.

Song Hong 07, with a capacity of 1.2 megawatt peak, generates almost 1,270,000 kilowatt hours per year, while Song Hong 10 with a capacity of 0.77 MWp generates nearly 830,000 KWh. Replacing part of the energy with solar power will help reduce approximately 2,000 tons of CO2 and help preserve 33,000 trees per year.
Bui Viet Quang, general director of Song Hong Garment stated, “Along with protecting the environment by reducing CO2 emissions, we also gain many economic benefits such as lower electricity costs and significantly reduced expenses for roof maintenance.”
Using solar power at Song Hong 07 and Song Hong 10 are examples for commercial customers and companies in the textile industry, allowing them to see the benefits of using rooftop solar power.
Notably, these are also the first two projects using the Green Fund from responsAbility (Switzerland). The purpose of the fund is to invest in projects that bring positive impacts to the environment and the community while promoting the development of green and clean electricity for the industrial and commercial segments in Vietnam.
CMES has applied the business model of no-cost investment in the construction and operation of the rooftop solar systems at Song Hong 7 and Song Hong 10. It is responsible for 100 per cent of the cost of installation, operation, and maintenance of rooftop solar power systems in factories and commercial buildings and customers can use green energy at low prices.
Currently, CMES is planning to expand the number of projects that allow customers to directly consume green energy through the no-cost investment business model.
Pursuing this, the goal of CMES is to align its production and business activities in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and ensure the harmonisation of business development goals with social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
