Real estate giant Sun Group began construction of a residential, commercial and services complex in Truong Vinh ward, with an investment of over VND8.7 trillion ($332.68 million).
The 3.74-hectare project will feature one- to three-story podiums for commercial, service, education and serviced-apartment uses, as well as 35- to 37-story residential towers and two basement levels.
The development is expected to add housing, retail and services capacity, while creating a new urban landmark along one of Vinh’s major transport corridors.
In Tan Mai ward, Sunwin Co. Ltd. broke ground on the La Brise resort, a large-scale tourism and leisure complex valued at VND2.15 trillion ($82.21 million).
The project covers nearly 218 hectares, including 89 hectares for the resort, 90 hectares for an 18-hole golf course, and 38.75 hectares of green space. Planned facilities include tourism villas and a high-end hotel.
The project has a 50-year operating term. It is expected to complete legal procedures and receive land for construction in the first quarter of 2027, with completion targeted for Q4/2029.
Also on Wednesday, Galax JSC started building a waste-to-energy plant at the Nghi Yen solid-waste treatment complex in Hai Loc commune.
The project covers nearly 7.2 hectares and has an investment of VND4.06 trillion (over $155 million). It will have a capacity of 1,500 tons of waste per day and generate 30 megawatts of electricity.
The plant has been described as the largest waste-to-energy project in central Vietnam and among the country’s largest such facilities.
Under the latest approved investment schedule, the first phase was due to enter operation in Q4/2028, followed by the second phase in Q4/2030.
The developer, however, aims to accelerate construction and equipment installation to bring both phases into operation by Q4/2027, citing the province’s urgent need for additional waste-treatment capacity.
