The devastating impact of Storm Vamco has inflicted significant damage on Vietnam's central region, uprooting trees and damaging many properties, with all relevant forces being mobilised in an effort to help locals overcome the storm’s consequences.

As the 13th storm to hit the East Sea this year, Storm Vamco causes severe damage to the homes of residents in coastal Gio Hai commune in Gio Linh district of the central province of Quang Tri.

Storm Vamco injures a total of six people in Quang Tri province. In addition, roughly 100 houses in Hai Lang district have their roofs blown away, leading soldiers to provide assistance to residents to repair their homes.

The roofs of restaurants in the coastal town of Cua Tung in Vinh Linh district of Quang Tri province are blown away.

A similar situation occurs in the central province of Quang Binh with eight individuals being injured. Locals come together to help each other repair their houses in the aftermath of the storm.

Elsewhere, five fishing boats in Quang Binh province were sunk due to the weather event, although fortunately no deaths have been confirmed. Pictured are boats on the Long Dai river as they attempt to move from their shelter after the storm.

The storm causes the destruction of many local houses in Cua Dai ward in Hoi An city of Quang Nam province.

Three people during the storm hitting the area are reported as injured.

The storm causes significant losses for residents in coastal areas.

Heavy rain and strong winds cause damage to a number of properties in Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Hai Chau, and Thanh Khe districts in the central city of Da Nang. Pictured is the high tide as it hits the sidewalk in Da Nang.

In Thua Thien-Hue province, the 13th storm of the year leaves dozens of houses in the coastal commune of Phu Thuan in Phu Vang district destroyed. In addition, the roofs in Phu Thuan 1 primary school are left blown away.

Soldiers are mobilised in an effort to clean the school.

The storm is known to have blown the roofs off of 1,505 houses in Da Nang city, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, and Quang Tri provinces from November 14 to 15. The majority of the damage occurred in Thua Thien-Hue province.
