Nguyen Quynh Anh, Deputy Chair of the National Competition Commission
The conference is part of a series of activities aimed at disseminating competition laws and implementing the legal support plan for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This plan is executed by the National Competition Commission in accordance with Decision 1003/QD-BCT dated April 26, 2024, issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade, which outlines the Legal Support Plan for SMEs in 2024.
The conference was attended by experts and scholars in the field of competition law, representatives from the judiciary, lawyers, the business community, and various units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In her opening remarks at the conference, Nguyen Quynh Anh, Deputy Chair of the National Competition Commission, said that in the process of international economic integration, understanding and complying with competition laws have become increasingly important not only for state agencies, but also for businesses. She noted that the Competition Law applies to a wide range of entities, including those operating across borders, with penalties reaching up to 10 percent of the total revenue. Moreover, the processes for addressing and resolving competition cases are highly complex.
“The National Competition Commission is aware of the necessity for information dissemination in preventing violations of the Competition Law. Therefore, the objective of the conference is to provide citizens, the business community, and those interested in competition laws with an overview of the regulations pertaining to the process of handling cases, resolving complaints against case-handling decisions, and participating in administrative litigation related to anti-competitive practices, with updated content based on current legal provisions,” Nguyen Quynh Anh stated.
