Despite the negative impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Singapore has worked with businesses of the two countries to seize opportunities and promote Vietnamese exports to Singapore.
Alongside organizing a fact-finding trip to Vietnam for Singaporean importers of fruit and vegetables in February, the office inquired into the Singaporean Government’s procurement orders and provided up-to-date information for Vietnamese businesses.

In March alone, the office coordinated more than 20 orders of Vietnamese coffee, instant noodles, sweet potatoes, cabbages, aubergines, pineapples, and watermelons for export to Singapore.
Enterprise Singapore statistics show that Vietnam's export value to Singapore in February increased 49% compared to the previous month and rose 103% from the same period of 2019.
The Trade Office worked with Vietnam Airlines’ Representative Office in Singapore to support Vietnamese businesses in boosting their exports.
Though Vietnam Airlines cancelled all passenger flights between Vietnam and Singapore due to the COVID-19 epidemic, it has operated cargo flights between the two countries to maintain bilateral trade exchanges.
