Nga received the invitation from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam as BRG Group is a pioneering enterprise that puts people at the centre and ensures gender equality in the working environment.

She led the group’s delegation to attend WAW! 2022 which was held in Tokyo in early December.

Founded in 2014 by the Japanese government, WAW! is an opportunity for enterprises, trade unions, and non-governmental organisations, as well as representatives from governments and the United Nations, to share and exchange opinions about issues related to the roles of women – especially women business owners in the new era.

This year’s event was the first after nearly three years interrupted by the pandemic and it saw the delivery of remarkable speeches by many world leaders including Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, Icelandic President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, Director of the UN Women Sima Bahous, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Burić, President of Moldova Maia Sandu, and 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winners Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad.

After the opening session, Nga was one of the speakers during the first discussion panel at WAW! 2022 themed Improving the gender wage gap.

“Over the past 30 years, BRG Group has built up a team of more than 22,000 employees operating in a variety of fields, over 60 per cent of whom are women. About 56 per cent of divisional directors and 50 per cent of the executive board are women,” Nga said.

During the trip to Japan, Nga also gave a speech at the annual meeting of the Japan Association for Female Executives.

In her 15-minute speech, she stressed, “Women make up half of the world and are a source of happiness. More than ever, women today should be more confident to contribute to society. That’s the basis of equality. I believe that this is also the portrait of female leaders in the new era because it’s our success that makes the world around us better.”

Nga also highlighted the extremely important contributions of women to the success of not only BRG Group but also the economic development of every country.

"Women needed to be more empowered to not only become business owners but also leaders in important sectors of society," Nga concluded.
