The hand-over ceremony on May 25 gave Mayor Müller the perfect platform to extend his profound gratitude to the association for offering such a practical gift to help the people of Berlin overcome this challenging period.
For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Minh Vu stressed that the Vietnamese Government, localities, and organisations are all keen to display solidarity with the German people through donating vital equipment such as face masks and other medical supplies.
Despite facing numerous difficulties over the course of the pandemic, Vietnamese people in Germany not only come together to provide mutual support, but also launch campaigns in order to unite with their German counterparts to aid them in their fight against the COVID-19, the diplomat said.
The campaigns have attracted the participation of numerous Vietnamese people throughout Germany as hundreds of thousands of face masks and medical supplies have been sent out to organisations, hospitals, schools, and nursing homes.
Moreover, the Vietnamese community living in Germany will continue to make a positive contribution to the general socio-economic activities of the European nation, especially during the course of the COVID-19 crisis, and will serve as a bridge between the two countries, contributing to bolstering the friendly relations that exist.
