The plant covers a total area of 1.2 hectares, comprising a two-storey production facility and a research and development (R&D) centre.
The facility provides a full range of energy storage systems across all market segments, from residential and commercial-industrial users to utility-scale projects.
This is one of the first energy storage battery plants in Viet Nam to be developed systematically and professionally in accordance with international standards, with an automation rate exceeding 90%, ensuring strict quality control at every stage of production.
On the technology front, GG Power has licensed technology from Goldwind Group, a provider of clean energy, energy storage and wind power solutions, operating in more than 30 countries with large-scale projects across the US, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long stated that the renewable energy market in Viet Nam cannot develop without battery energy storage systems.
He affirmed that the ministry would support domestic enterprises in overcoming challenges to develop clean energy sources, as well as a home-grown renewable energy ecosystem.
In Viet Nam, although the demand for energy storage is increasingly pressing, driven by intermittency and grid overload, the market remains largely dependent on imported equipment.
To this end, the revised Power Development Plan VIII has established a clear roadmap for developing distributed energy sources and installing battery energy storage systems to reduce peak load pressure.
According to the revised Power Development Plan VIII, Viet Nam is expected to require approximately 10-16 GW of BESS capacity in the years ahead.
