Bamboo Airways is recruiting a Chief of Representative Office and many essential positions to commence non-stop flights connecting Vietnam and the U.S. 

Bamboo Airways is looking to fill positions including Chief of Representative Office in the U.S., Commercial Manager, Finance Manager, Office Manager, and Station Manager at San Francisco International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, etc.

Bamboo Airways's Chief of Representative Office in the U.S. would be responsible for managing and operating all activities, incorporating business development, customer service, diplomacy, marketing and media activities.

Several requirements for Chief of Representative Office application are 10 years’ experience in aviation, an excellent business mindset, exceptional organizational, negotiating, finance managing, statistics analyzing, and problem-solving skills, Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related fields, proficient English competency, etc.

Personnel working at Bamboo Airways's representative office in the U.S. must understand and comply with aviation law and trade in the host country.

The opening of Bamboo Airways's representative office in the U.S. is considered preparation for operating non-stop charter flights connecting Vietnam and the States. The airline will move to exploit regular non-stop flights as soon as the government allows the reopening of international commercial routes.

After commencing operations, Bamboo Airways's representative office in the U.S. would make a substantial contribution to its international network expansion, along with representative and authorized general agent offices in international markets the airline is exploiting like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, etc.

Dual goals

Bamboo Airways was officially designated to operate charter flights to the U.S. in May 2021. The airline has acquired slots to conduct regular non-stop flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco and Los Angeles starting Sept. 1, becoming the first Vietnamese carrier to secure non-stop U.S. flight slots.

At San Francisco International Airport, daily flights connecting Ho Chi Minh city and the U.S. are expected to land at 10 a.m. (local time) and take off at 1 p.m. (local time). Whereas, the landing and take-off time of daily flights at Los Angeles International Airport are 9:30 a.m. (local time) and 12:30 p.m. (local time), respectively.

As of now, Bamboo Airways has fulfilled technical requirements to conduct non-stop charter flights to the U.S. with the wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Regarding legal procedures, Bamboo Airways has been granted a license by the U.S. Department of Transport to operate non-stop charter flights to the States. It is also

working with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Department, and relevant authorities to complete procedures.

The Ministry of Transport has said Bamboo Airways' operation of charter flights to the U.S. is a contribution to the repatriation of Vietnamese citizens and the travel of foreign diplomats, investors, experts, and high-tech workers into Vietnam; bringing the airline closer to its dual goals which are to prevent the pandemic and develop the economy.

This serves as a stepping stone for Bamboo Airways to conduct regular flights to the U.S. in the future and promote the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S., the ministry said.

Bamboo Airways currently operates over 60 domestic routes, transporting 7.5 million passengers, reaching 20 percent of the market share, a twofold increase in just one year. The airline expects to occupy 30 percent of market share in Vietnam this year. It has also maintained the highest on-time flight rate in Vietnam's aviation market in three years up to 2021, with an absolute safety rate of 100 percent.

Bamboo Airways's pre-tax profit reached VND400 billion in 2020. The airline sets a target of VND500 billion in pre-tax profit for 2021, increasing 25 percent over the same period last year.
