The above figure comes out as shrimp exports to major market like the European Union, the U.S., Japan, China and the Republic of Korea have bounced back while shrimp output from India and some other exporters dipped due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, competent agencies have actively worked with the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service to ensure that Vietnamese tra exports meet import regulations specified by the American side.

Last year, export turnover of aquatic products fell by 1.9 percent to US$8.4 billion, of which shrimp and pangasius accounted for 62 percent or US$5.2 billion./.
