As part of this partnership, APM Terminals will provide financial, operational, and technical support to HATECO with the aim of facilitating direct imports and exports between Vietnam's north and European and American markets. The project is expected to create attractive opportunities for key customers and cargo owners in the north of Vietnam.

Tran Van Ky, chairman of HATECO Group, commented that the company is proud to partner with APM Terminals and Maersk, who have been chosen for their aligned visions and capabilities to add value, both commercially and operationally.

The project involves developing two berths with a total length of 900 metres (450m each) that can accommodate container vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs.
HATECO plans to complete all construction work and deploy equipment by the end of 2024, with the new terminal expected to become operational by the first quarter of 2025. In the initial phase, the facility will have five ship-to-shore cranes and 14 rubber-tyre gantry cranes.
