Speaking at the 'Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023' held between September 13-15, Hoang Tri Mai, CEO of Airbus in Vietnam, said, "Vietnam’s development is a promising signal in the Asia-Pacific region, and Airbus is delighted to be a part of this journey."
"We are working closely with domestic companies for new orders related to aerospace parts manufacturing, further expanding a supply chain that meets our highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainable development," Mai said.
Mai emphasised Airbus’s expectations from its partners, saying, "We are collaborating intensively with domestic suppliers to ensure the ramping up of aircraft production rates and strict adherence to post-sales service stipulations."
Airbus also expects suppliers to uphold the sustainability ethos. "Suppliers must demonstrate a commitment to sustainability that aligns with Airbus' values," Mai added.
Citing Airbus' partnerships, Mai pointed to collaborations such as Artus (Meggitt) Vietnam and Nikkiso Vietnam, which have proven instrumental in Airbus' operations in the country.
Vietnam's airlines currently operate over 220 Airbus aircraft with another 110 in the pipeline, highlighting the significant impact the aviation giant has had on the sector, and in turn, the Vietnamese economy.
