Born and raised in the Mekong Delta, Huynh Tran Huyen Trang is more fortunate than most to be able to work in her hometown. Her employer is a business that produces and distributes products made from coconut, which is a renowned speciality of the region.

Trang assumed the position of head of the research and development (R&D) department at Asia Coconut Processing JSC (ACP), one of six member companies of AIG Group, nearly six years ago. She is responsible for collaborating with her associates to research and develop a variety of coconut-based products to meet the increasingly stringent standards in the market.

Trang shared, "ACP’s dynamic working environment, which always encourages creativity and promotes sustainable values, has inspired me to stick with this business for a long time."

“I feel proud to be able to contribute in part to bringing Vietnamese agricultural products, especially coconuts, to international markets through ACP’s products,” she confided.

“The acceptance from consumers, reflected in the steady increase in the number of products sold each year, has become the biggest motivation for me and the members of the R&D department to keep trying,” Trang added.

AIG focuses on developing Vietnam’s organic raw materials and the system of factories to process high-value ingredients

Thousands of other young employees working at AIG’s member companies also aspire to contribute to the mission of bringing Vietnamese agricultural products that can conquer the world.

They come from many different localities, yet they are all attached to AIG and this land. On each journey, they receive companionship and encouragement from the leadership, starting with the captain, Nguyen Thien Truc.

Truc is the chairman of AIG Group, and an alumnus of Can Tho University. In the 2000s, he and some members of the Board of Directors, who are also alumni of the university, started a business together that grew into a large corporation.

The combination of solid expertise and strong entrepreneurial spirit from Truc quickly made AIG into one of the pioneers of innovation and success.

AIG is making positive contributions to the development of the agri-food processing industry in the Mekong Delta in particular, and Vietnam in general.

“My colleagues and I are focusing on the goal of developing ingredients derived from Vietnamese agricultural products, contributing to adding value to domestic products and raising the position of the national ingredient processing industry on the world map,” Truc shared.

After 21 years of establishment, AIG Group has achieved success in the distribution of ingredients from abroad and is currently focusing on building organic raw material areas in Vietnam.

The group has invested in research and the application of technology for the development and processing ingredients such as glucose syrup, tapioca starch, coconut water, and coconut milk powder, creating products that are widely applied in the food processing industry.

In addition, AIG also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Can Tho University in 2022 with the desire to build a chain of food processing enterprises in the Mekong Delta, resonating the strength to diversify and develop high-quality, young human resources in the region.

At a seminar on Sustainable development in the Mekong Delta with vision to 2045 that took place at Can Tho University on June 16, AIG spoke to many representatives from different fields in the Mekong Delta to find solutions to promote the region’s sustainable development.

During the seminar, AIG's Board of Directors representative spoke about the goal of driving the potential of raw materials and agricultural products and creating new advantages for business startups in the region.

AIG emphasised that investment in enterprises that process ingredients is necessary for the development of the Mekong Delta, giving farmers the confidence to grow crops thanks to the increased demand.
