The Ministry of Health confirmed 4,642 COVID-19 cases on Thursday morning, raising the national tally to 241,543.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from August 1 to 6.00 am of August 12. 

The latest patients comprise three imported cases and 4,639 locally transmitted cases in 24 provinces and cities namely HCMC (2,318), Binh Duong (911), Dong Nai (425), Long An (354), Tien Giang (212), Khanh Hoa (130), Tay Ninh (79), Tra Vinh (25), Can Tho (24), Kien Giang (23), Thua-Thien Hue (20), Binh Dinh (20), An Giang (16), Dak Lak (15), Phu Yen (15), Ben Tre (15), Nghe An (14), Dong Thap (9), Hau Giang (6), Bac Lieu (3), Ha Noi (2), Hung Yen (1), Ha Tinh (1) and Ca Mau (1). 

Of the domestic cases, 1,256 were uncovered in the community. 

Among the national patient tally, 239,159 are locally-transmitted cases, including 237,589 documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

Two out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Quang Ninh and Bac Kan.

The total recoveries were 85,154.

Among the current positive cases, 489 patients have been warded in the intensive care units, of whom 21 are in critical conditions.

As of late August 11, 12,098,821 vaccine doses were administered, with 1,092,700 people fully vaccinated./.
