Promoting transport infrastructure and interregional connectivity is deemed to lead to boosted development

This year, Quang Tri province will focus on implementing many key projects, including a coastal road connecting the East-West economic corridor.

According to Vo Van Hung, chairman of Quang Tri People's Committee, the province has just enacted an action programme on the province's socioeconomic development plan in 2022.

The programme is set to make good use of every opportunity to propel Quang Tri's socioeconomic rebound and development.

For a synchronous infrastructure system, Quang Tri focuses on implementing vital projects with capital coming from public investment schemes and non-state investment sources.

Priority shall be given to directing and accelerating the implementation of several large-scale projects, especially energy ones, with high pervasive effects, creating a driving force for the province's socioeconomic development.

For the northcentral province of Ha Tinh, local traffic infrastructure is to ensure interregional connectivity, meeting the needs for transportation and goods circulation in the province, helping to turn Ha Tinh into a major development pole in the north-central region.

Tran Van Tung, director of Ha Tinh Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that in 2021, many key traffic projects have been put into operation such as the Tho Tuong bridge over the La River and a section of the Xuan Hoi-Thach Khe-Vung Ang coastal route, among others.

The local transport sector is implementing and up grading 14 important works and projects, such as further upgrading that coastal route and building a road connecting National Highway 1 to Ky Xuan beach resort in Ky Anh district at a cost surpassing $3.8 million.

In the central coastal province of Binh Dinh, two coastal routes were completed around Lunar New Year, the Cat Tien-De Gi section of the coastal route and the road to Phu Cat Airport with a total investment of about $69.5 million.

According to Ho Quoc Dung, secretary of Binh Dinh Party Committee, the projects were completed on schedule and with assured quality.

The remaining sections of the coastal route and three other routes connecting the west of the province to the coastal route are to be urgently deployed soon.

“Along with the section of the North-South Highway crossing through Binh Dinh, I believe these projects will create a synchronous and modern transport network, creating a driving force to promote socioeconomic development,” Dung noted.

By 2025, Binh Dinh aims to complete the coastal route with a length of nearly 118km stretching from Quy Nhon city to Tam Quan ward, valued at more than $326 million.

In 2021, Binh Dinh was one of the localities with a string of key traffic projects on schedule, making the province a lucrative investment venue.

The province lured in 93 investment projects, with a total capital exceeding $4.53 billion, representing a 102 per cent jump in total value compared to 2020.
