The Institute for Enterprise Development (Institute) is a research and development organization under VCCI, registered and operating under the Law on Science and Technology, with the function of organizing and conducting research and consulting work for VCCI in the fields of policy and law making related to socio-economic development, enterprises (DN) and the team of entrepreneurs.
The main activities of the Institute are: Researching and providing scientific arguments for VCCI to effectively perform its representative function, promoting and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the business community and employers in Vietnam in domestic and international relations; promoting the development of enterprises through research activities, technical consultancy, training, summarizing good business practices, building models and disseminating them to development support organizations as well as enterprises.
In addition, the Institute also collects and studies the opinions of enterprises, analyzes and advises the Executive Board of VCCI on legal issues and socio-economic policies to improve the business environment; performs the function of annually assessing the development of enterprises; organizes research, promptly detects factors that have a direct impact on the development of the business community, organizes forums, scientific seminars and proposes solutions; exchanges and cooperates with domestic and foreign consulting and research organizations on enterprise development issues; focuses on the issues of resource development and international integration.
Some outstanding performance results:
- The project "Building and promoting the role of the business community in the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization and international integration" is an important basis for the Politburo to issue Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW dated December 9, 2011.
- Annual Report of Vietnamese Enterprises (from 2006 to present): In addition to providing in-depth and timely information on the capacity of the Vietnamese business community, the reports have reflected the topical issues and contents of interest to the business community through research focusing on the annual theme, while proposing recommendations and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.
- Vietnam Startup Index Report (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016). The report shows a picture of the characteristics and conditions of startups in Vietnam, thereby comparing the startup situation of Vietnam with other countries in the region and the world.
- Presided over the research and development of many other projects/reports such as: Research on transferring a number of qualified public services to VCCI for implementation in accordance with the provisions of law and international practices; pilot market research for five product lines serving the implementation of the Competition Law; the impact of international economic integration after 5 years of Vietnam's accession to the WTO on the development of the Vietnamese business community; driving force for economic reform in localities; research on five light industries in Vietnam; research on the development strategy of the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry;
- Research on Vietnam's competitiveness during the crisis period aims to synthesize assessments of the production and business situation, as well as opinions of enterprises (typical enterprises) on the business environment and forecasts for future development. Since 2009, the Institute has been assigned to preside over the survey of enterprises through the "Online information survey of Vietnamese enterprise dynamics - VBIS" platform (www.vbis.vn).
In addition, the Institute also carries out many other activities such as: Being the first unit in Vietnam to successfully test the model of "Vietnam Pioneer Fund (VNCF)", this is an effective and creative model of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, which has been replicated and implemented by many other projects with ODA capital support; organizing many activities to disseminate scientific and technological information to enterprises and seminars/seminars/training courses on improving skills and knowledge for enterprises such as: Technology management, technology administration, updating new technology.
The Institute also participated in researching and developing the Vietnam Development Report 2035; the Report on Private Sector Development to Build a Sustainable and Self-Reliant Economy; the Report on the Results of 5 Years of Implementation of Resolution 09-NQ/TW to the Politburo; the Report summarizing 15 years of implementing Resolution 5 of the Central Committee on Private Economic Development; the Report summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution 6 of the Central Committee on Building a Socialist-Oriented Market Economic Institution,... consulting and providing information to businesses.
The Institute also cooperates closely with many domestic and international partners in improving research capacity, advising on policy and law development, and supporting the development of the business community.
