Sharing perspectives with other regional delegates, the Ambassador remarked that the Asia-Pacific region is increasingly playing a central role in global innovation, with notable advancements in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure.

The Ambassador highlighted the need for equitable access to technology and urged developed countries to step up technology transfer, innovative financial support, and knowledge sharing to assist developing countries in their digital transformation journeys.

The 81st session of ESCAP, taking place from April 21 to 25, brings together over 650 delegates from 52 countries and territories and many international organizations. The session is scheduled to conclude on April 25 with the adoption of a series of regional resolutions on collaboration regarding climate change response, sustainable urban development, and support for middle-income countries towards inclusive development.
