At the recent meeting between VCCI President Pham Tan Cong and KCCI Chief Representative in Vietnam Yun Ok Hyon, the two sides put forth recommendations to promote investment cooperation of the Korean business community in Vietnam in a new context.

At the meeting, Mr. Yun Ok Hyon - Chief Representative of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (KCCI) said that despite the raging, many Korean businesses are still very interested in the Vietnamese market. When the restrictive measures are gradually eased in the near future, it is expected that the Korean investment in Vietnam will increase rapidly.

In addition, on the occasion of the upcoming 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, Mr. Yun Ok Hyon asked VCCI to jointly organize events on the occasion of the celebration, including the Vietnam - Korea Business Forum, scheduled for late 2022.

Through this forum, the business communities of the two sides will have the opportunity to directly exchange information to learn about market information and partners in fields of their mutual interest. According to Mr. Yun Ok Hyon, the event will have the participation of Korean businesses operating in many fields that are currently prioritized by Vietnam to attract investment such as clean energy, waste treatment, and the environment.

On the side of VCCI, Mr. Pham Tan Cong assessed that the two sides have set up many productive cooperation programs over the years. With the increasingly enhanced business cooperation relationship between the two countries in recent years, VCCI President Cong suggested that KCCI and VCCI continue to promote coordination and devise a new cooperation program in the future, aiming to tighten the relationship between the Vietnamese - Korean business community and expand the scope of investment into new fields with stronger development potential.

Agreeing with the proposal to organize the Vietnam - Korea Business Forum this year, Mr. Cong wished that, the success of major enterprises investing in Vietnam, will inspire other Korean small and medium enterprises to boost investment in Vietnam. In addition, he suggested that the KCCI and VCCI would sign a cooperation program for a new development phase at this event.

“VCCI always and supports KCCI and Korean businesses in looking for partners and projects in Vietnam to further promote the business cooperation relationship,” VCCI President Pham Tan Cong pledged.
