As part of the working visit by a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to the US’ states of Iowa, Ohio, Maryland, and the capital Washington D.C. from June 2 to 6, Vietnamese enterprises have signed 20 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to import agricultural products from the US.

The delegation was led by Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy and included representatives from nearly 50 government agencies, businesses, and associations.
Enterprises expressed their hope that a trade agreement between the US and Viet Nam will soon be signed, thereby reducing tariffs on agricultural products, strengthening the shared supply chain, and contributing to the prosperity of both countries within the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership.
At a roundtable discussion between the delegation and the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), Ted Osius, President and CEO of USABC, affirmed that the council and its member companies would continue to support the development of Viet Nam’s food and agriculture sector.
In response, Minister Do Duc Duy reaffirmed the Vietnamese Government’s strong commitment to ongoing institutional reforms, enhancing administrative efficiency, upgrading infrastructure, and creating the most favourable conditions for international businesses, including US enterprises, to expand long-term and effective investment and trade cooperation in Viet Nam.
