VCCI - JIET strategic cooperation: New door for Vietnamese - Japanese IT enterprises

On the afternoon of March 5, 2025, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Japan Information Technology Trade Center (JIET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, marking an important step forward in international cooperation and affirming VCCI's strong commitment to supporting information technology (IT) enterprises to deeply integrate and develop sustainably.

Over the years, Vietnam and Japan have maintained a comprehensive strategic partnership in many fields, especially in the information technology and digital transformation industry. Currently, Japan is one of the most important markets for Vietnamese IT enterprises, especially in the fields of software outsourcing, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and digital transformation.
Realizing the great potential for cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises, on March 5, 2025, the Japan Information Technology Trade Center ( JIET ) decided to establish and open a branch in Hanoi , Vietnam - the newest branch of JIET on the international map. Accordingly, JIET is the only non-profit organization in Japan that currently has a total of 04 branches abroad (Thailand, Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam), and is also the largest association in Japan supporting businesses related to software and IT in trade. This event marks an important step in strengthening the presence of Japanese enterprises in Vietnam and opening up new cooperation opportunities for businesses of the two countries.
Within the framework of the event, JIET and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a commitment to close cooperation between the two sides. Through this Memorandum of Understanding , VCCI and JIET committed to acting as an important bridge, promoting cooperation and information exchange between IT enterprises of the two countries. Specifically, the two sides will coordinate to organize forums, seminars, and business connections to facilitate communication, cooperation and market expansion. VCCI will support the promotion of JIET's activities to the Vietnamese business community, while JIET will provide information on the Japanese market and support VCCI's member companies in approaching customers, registering and protecting intellectual property rights in Japan.

In addition to representatives from VCCI, JIET and member companies of the two organizations, the Signing Ceremony also had the participation of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen - Deputy Director, Department of Information Technology Industry, Ministry of Science and Technology, further affirming the public sector's interest and support for capacity building activities for the Vietnamese business community, especially IT enterprises.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong - Vice Chairman of VCCI highly appreciated the role of this cooperation: "The combination of Vietnam's abundant and creative IT human resources and Japan's advanced technology platform and strict quality management system will create high added values in the digital age."

Mr. Kenji Minamide - Chairman of the Japan Information Technology Trade Center also expressed his belief that the close cooperation between VCCI and JIET, together with the support of the business communities of the two countries, will create important achievements, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnam - Japan IT industry.
