That was the affirmation of Vice Chairmna of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Nguyen Quang Vinh at the Launching Ceremony of the Executive Board of the Hai Phong City Business Association.

VCCI Vice Chairman Nguyen Quang Vinh said that Hai Phong - the heroic port city, is not only the economic, industrial and large seaport center of the country, but also a land rich in innovation and creativity, gathering tens of thousands of businesses that are contributing day and night to the prosperous development of the city and the country.

In 2024, Hai Phong City will continue to maintain its impressive growth momentum, with a growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reaching 11.01%, ranking 3rd in the country and the 10th consecutive year of maintaining double-digit growth. Hai Phong's economic scale is also among the top 5 largest provinces and cities in the country.

Assessing the highlights of Hai Phong City, the Vice Chairman of VCCI said that, in addition to high and stable growth over many years, Hai Phong City's industrial production has always been leading and guiding. In particular, Hai Phong City is one of the localities attracting the most foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country. In 2024, the city attracted an impressive figure of more than 4.5 billion USD in FDI capital. Along with that, Hai Phong City's infrastructure is always developing, the investment and business environment is improving. Another highlight that Hai Phong City has a lot of potential in the coming time is the explosive development of logistics, especially green and sustainable logistics.

Regarding the role of the business community, the Vice Chairman of VCCI said that in recent years, the Hai Phong business community has made enormous contributions to the city's socio-economic development. Despite many difficulties and challenges, especially during the pandemic and global economic fluctuations, businesses have continued to grow, innovate technology, expand production, create jobs for tens of thousands of workers, actively participate in social security activities, and demonstrate a high sense of responsibility to the community.

"In the new context like today, it requires businesses and entrepreneurs to make new contributions, creating new values for a more developed society. Today's entrepreneurs not only shoulder the mission of creating economic benefits, but also, entrepreneurs, through their business activities, will create new values. Those are social values and more importantly, developing in the direction of green growth and environmental protection", the Vice Chairman of VCCI emphasized.

To gather the strength of large and small businesses in the area, promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation to make the business community strong and ready to enter a new era, recently, the Hai Phong City Business Association was officially established.

Regarding this, the Vice Chairman of VCCI emphasized: “VCCI highly appreciates the direction of Hai Phong City in establishing the Hai Phong City Business Association. VCCI believes in the strong development of the Hai Phong City business community and commits to always accompany and support the association in business development activities, for the common development of the city”.

Regarding the strategic orientation for the Hai Phong City Business Association to operate effectively, Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh said that in economic development, the role of the business community and entrepreneurs is the most important driving force in the development of the economy. In the coming time, to effectively implement these strategic orientations, the Hai Phong City Business Association needs to develop a specific action plan, with the participation and contributions of member businesses and close coordination with state management agencies. At the same time, the Association needs to flexibly adjust its strategy according to the actual situation and changes in the business environment of the city as well as the country.

The Vice Chairman of VCCI also informed that in the past half year, VCCI has worked very closely with Hai Phong City on Hai Phong hosting the 3rd APEC Business Advisory Council meeting. This is a very important occasion to attract foreign investment. The members of the APEC Business Advisory Council are global enterprises, large enterprises will come to Hai Phong City for a 3-day meeting.

On March 27, 2025, the Hai Phong City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1020/QD-UBND on allowing the establishment of the Hai Phong City Business Association.

On April 9, 2025, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued Decision No. 0524/LDTM-CTHV on recognizing the Hai Phong City Business Association as an official member of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

At the Congress to establish the Hai Phong City Business Association for the 2025-2030 term, the Congress approved the Charter, Regulations, approved the Personnel Plan, elected the Executive Committee consisting of 30 exemplary, dedicated and capable businessmen representing many fields and professions in the city. The Congress also elected the Inspection Committee, elected the Chairman, Vice Chairmen, and Head of the Inspection Committee of the Association. 100% agreed to propose and nominate Mr. Le Tien Chau - Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee as Honorary Chairman of the Association. Mr. Tran Van Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sao Do Group Joint Stock Company holds the position of Chairman of the Hai Phong City Business Association.
