On behalf of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants, there were Mr. Pham Sy Danh - President of VACPA, Term V, Mr. Tran Van Ta - Honorary President, Vice Presidents, Executive Committee members of VACPA, Term V and former leaders of VACPA.

At the event, VACPA was honored to receive a congratulatory flower basket from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; and was delighted to receive a congratulatory flower basket and letter from Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang.

Speaking at the ceremony, VACPA Chairman Pham Sy Danh emphasized that after 20 years of establishment and development, despite facing many challenges and difficulties, VACPA has always adhered to the motto "VACPA - Independence - Honesty - Transparency"; strived to fulfill the functions and tasks according to the Association's Charter and the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Finance; achieved significant progress in all aspects of activities, from developing and supporting members; participating with State management agencies to perfect the legal framework, controlling professional quality; compiling professional documents to guide and support practitioners; training and updating knowledge to improve the capacity of accounting and auditing human resources, expanding cooperation to integrate and enhance the image of the Vietnamese accounting and auditing profession in the region and the world. Up to now, VACPA has affirmed its role as a professional organization that is responsible to its members, organized and operated in a professional manner, in accordance with the country's development practices and in accordance with international professional practices.

Praising the achievements of VACPA, Deputy Minister of Finance Ho Sy Hung acknowledged VACPA's outstanding efforts in promoting the development of accounting and auditing activities in Vietnam and said: Independent auditing activities were born from the objective needs of the process of opening up, integrating and developing the country's economy. Through auditing and financial and accounting consulting services, auditing enterprises have made an important contribution to popularizing economic and financial mechanisms and policies; implementing information disclosure and transparency; attracting investment capital; promoting the development of the capital market to serve the country's economic development.

After nearly 35 years of establishment and development, the field of independent auditing in Vietnam has made great strides with more than 220 auditing enterprises, gathering nearly 15,000 employees, of which nearly 7,000 are certified auditors by the Ministry of Finance and nearly 2,500 auditors registered to practice. In particular, independent auditing in Vietnam always quickly approaches and promptly updates international practices and standards, affirming its important and indispensable role in the market economy, actively contributing to the country's socio-economic development.

Deputy Minister of Finance Ho Sy Hung assessed that during 20 years of establishment and development, VACPA has affirmed its important role and position through a series of outstanding contributions: drafting professional standards for submission to the Ministry of Finance for promulgation; collecting opinions from members to contribute to and develop legal documents; organizing training to update and improve knowledge for auditors and practicing accountants; coordinating with the Ministry of Finance to inspect and supervise the quality of auditing services; issuing professional documents and practical instructions for members and auditing enterprises; expanding domestic and foreign cooperation to help the auditing profession integrate with the international community.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that in order for the independent auditing profession to develop more strongly and sustainably, meeting the requirements of the increasingly deep integration period, in the 6th term (2025 - 2030) and the following stages, VACPA needs to: propose a specific action program, provide better support for members; Effectively coordinate with State management agencies to perfect the legal framework and inspection and supervision mechanisms for the quality of auditing services; have solutions to mobilize the strength of highly qualified human resources, promote the role of numerous members; innovate, improve management capacity, apply modern technology to successfully fulfill the mission of a professional professional organization.

On the side of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Ho Sy Hung affirmed that he will continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the activities of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA), and support the development plans of the Association in the new term. The Deputy Minister also requested that each member, auditor, and auditing enterprise always uphold the compliance with professional ethics standards, continuously improve the quality of auditing services, and contribute to building a public, transparent and sustainably developed financial market.

“I believe that, with the foundation that has been built and consolidated over the past 20 years, the 6th Congress of VACPA will open a new, stronger and more sustainable development period for both VACPA and the independent auditing sector of our country,” the Deputy Minister expressed.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Ho Sy Hung presented the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Finance to the Association and 24 members and staff of VACPA to recognize and commend their positive contributions to the development of independent auditing and the Ministry of Finance.

At the ceremony, Mr. Phan Xuan Dung - President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) delivered a congratulatory speech and highly appreciated the positive results that VACPA has achieved in 20 years of establishment and development. On this occasion, VACPA was honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

Head of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Membership Committee Hoang Van Anh presented the Certificate of Merit from the President of VCCI for its outstanding achievements in building and developing the business community and socio-economy in 2024.

VACPA also received congratulatory letters and congratulations from VACPA's international partner organizations, specifically from Mr. Jean Bouquot - President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Mr. Prafulla Chhajed - President of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and the CAPA leadership team, Mr. Chris Freeland - General Director of the Chartered Certified Accountants Australia (CPAA); Mr. Ren Varma - Director of Southeast Asia Mainland - Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Ms. Elaine Hong - Director of China and Southeast Asia - Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

The success of the 20th Anniversary Celebration has opened a new period of development with opportunities and challenges that VACPA needs to overcome to continue to develop sustainably, worthy of the trust of State agencies, the business community, members, international friends and society.
