The group is expected to gain 16.21 trillion VND in revenue in May, bringing the total revenue in the first five months of this year to 77 trillion VND.
According to TKV General Director Vu Anh Tuan, to achieve these targets, TKV will intensify production by mobilising manpower and equipment and leveraging favourable weather to increase coal output to meet the rising demand in the dry season.
The group will enhance supervision of coal supply to thermal power plants and maintain communication with them to ensure coal reserves and backup sources for power generation in the hot months. They will also continue urging units to boost clean coal processing from non-coal products to support coal blending efforts.
As of April, the group had produced 3.63 million tonnes of raw coal and facilitated the sale of 5.05 million tonnes. It earned an estimated revenue of 16.1 trillion VND in April alone.
Over the first four months of 2024, TKV reported total revenue of 60.8 trillion VND, surpassing its yearly plan. Notably, the sale of commercial coal reached 17.87 million tonnes, a 14% increase year-on-year.
The group contributed 2.35 trillion VND to the State budget, and the figure for the first four months of this year totalled 9.6 trillion VND.
