The new Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, Urawadee Sriphiromya, emphasized that Vietnam has always been a very important partner for Thailand within ASEAN.
In recent years, VCCI has maintained good cooperation with Thai trade and investment promotion organizations such as the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), regularly exchanging information on trade and investment policies to support the business communities of both countries.

During a meeting with Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the new Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, Urawadee Sriphiromya, expressed her desire to cooperate and enhance activities supporting businesses during her tenure.
The Thai Ambassador highly appreciated the excellent development of Vietnam-Thailand relations in all areas, especially in economic, investment, and trade sectors. Ambassador Sriphiromya noted that one of the rapidly developing fields in Vietnam, which is crucial for economic development in the coming years, is IT.
Additionally, Ms. Sriphiromya expressed her wish for VCCI to coordinate support for two upcoming events: the "Vietnam-Thailand Business Forum" during the Thai Prime Minister's visit to Vietnam and the "Meet Thailand" event at the end of August in Lao Cai.
The Thai Ambassador also emphasized her efforts during her tenure to contribute positively to further strengthening the Vietnam-Thailand Strategic Partnership, particularly in connecting businesses, localities, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges. She also highlighted that the Thai Embassy and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TTC) will continue to closely collaborate with VCCI to further develop trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in the near future.
Sharing the same view, VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong noted that Vietnam and Thailand currently enjoy a good relationship, supporting and learning from each other as good friends, and are actively participating together in the ASEAN framework.

Chairman Pham Tan Cong also hopes that during her tenure, the new Ambassador will promote cooperative relations between the business communities of the two countries, leading to more Thai enterprises investing and successfully expanding their businesses in Vietnam.
Chairman Pham Tan Cong expressed his desire for the Embassy to provide more information to facilitate active exchanges and the search for trade opportunities between the businesses of the two countries. The VCCI Chairman affirmed that VCCI is ready to collaborate with the Thai Embassy in Vietnam to organize activities connecting businesses, thereby creating future cooperation opportunities.
Currently, Thailand is one of Vietnam's first strategic partners in Southeast Asia, with the two countries establishing diplomatic relations in 1976. In 2013, during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Thailand in June 2013, Vietnam and Thailand officially upgraded their relationship to a "Strategic Partnership," becoming the first two ASEAN countries to establish such a partnership.
The two countries have strengthened close cooperation and consistently supported each other within sub-regional and regional cooperation frameworks, such as the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC), and in multilateral relations at international forums, including the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the East Asia Summit (EAS), the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the United Nations.
Especially in the context of the ASEAN Community being officially established on December 31, 2015, the leaders of both countries agreed to promote coordination to effectively leverage the role of the Community, while consolidating solidarity and enhancing ASEAN's central role in addressing regional and international issues.
