Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (SABECO) is committed to its sustainable development strategy as well as its business growth targets to create positive socioeconomic values for localities in which the company operates.

While continuous product improvements and vibrant marketing campaigns for Saigon Beer aim to conquer consumers and affirm its position as a leading Vietnamese brand, community initiatives are a way for SABECO to fulfill its commitment to supporting local people and contribute to the country’s sustainable development.

In 2023, SABECO and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) held numerous activities to improve local life.

Total assistance from SABECO from 2022-2023 reached about VND30 billion ($1.25 million) to directly and indirectly cover 500,000 beneficiaries through the ‘Fostering Sports’ initiative which will upgrade 30 community sports playgrounds by 2024, and 73km of solar street lights across the country through the ‘Light Up the Rural’ initiative.

To encourage young talents, SABECO has been supporting training and mentoring courses for more than 500 young people to improve their knowledge of startups and digital transformation and enhance their competitiveness, develop their business sense, and create more jobs for them.

Thanks to the wide network of HCYU and its partners, SABECO has amplified the influence of community initiatives and significantly contributed to national strategies and goals on building new rural areas, green growth, digital transformation, and talent development.

Gifts and games for workers to welcome Lunar New Year

Most recently, SABECO, in collaboration with the HCYU, implemented a community initiative for Lunar New Year that delivered 10,400 gift sets worth VND7.4 billion ($308,300) to workers impacted by job cuts, fishermen facing challenges due to climate change, and border and coastal guards.

As a brand associated with the cultural and culinary values of Vietnam and using the dragon as a symbol of sustainable prosperity, Saigon Beer wanted to send encouragement and gratitude for their contributions to overcoming the challenges of the old year and look forward to a prosperous Year of the Dragon.

Over the years, Saigon Beer has held annual Tet community support events to help local people deal with socioeconomic difficulties, spreading the spirit of sharing during the festive season.
