MoH confirms 4,271 new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 4,271 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday morning, raising the national caseload to 174,461.

The latest cases comprise four imported cases and 4,267 local cases with 1,044 unlinked infections in 17 cities and provinces namely HCMC (2,365), Binh Duong (1,032), Tay Ninh (194), Dong Nai (164), Long An (146), Da Nang (93), Binh Thuan (77), Vinh Long (60), Can Tho (37), Phu Yen (28), An Giang (24), Binh Dinh (23), Dong Thap (14), Bac Lieu (four), Dak Nong (four), Lam Dong (one), and Lang Son (one).

 

Among the national patient tally, 172,133 are local infections, of which 170,563 cases have been documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence broke out.

Four of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Ninh, Bac Kan and Thai Binh. 

The total recoveries were 50,831.

Among the current positive cases, 463 are being treated at intensive care units, of whom 20 are in critical health conditions.

As of late August 1, over 7.2 million doses were administered, with 744,331 people fully vaccinated./.
