Even during the current pandemic, the start-up ecosystem in Hong Kong remains vibrant with a strong network of incubators and accelerators, experienced angels and venture capitalists as well as a range of government-backed programmes.

Key to stimulating the start-up community is the annual StartMeUp Festival launched in 2013 by Invest Hong Kong to promote Hong Kong as a startup destination, connect entrepreneurs and create a robust ecosystem that draws innovative, high impact ventures from around the world to the city. Since its inception, the festival has attracted strong participation from start-ups all over the world.

Going virtual for the first time this year, the festival is expected to draw around 17,000 delegates and an international mix of more than 300 speakers from 54 countries. Besides keynotes from world-renowned speakers, the festival will feature business and investor matching, startup villages, job fair, services marketplace, workshops and masterclasses, across sectors such as smart city technologies, consumer technology, retail and logistics innovation, gaming, fintech and much more.

Attendance is free for all core events.  To register for an all-in-one ticket for the whole week as well as to view all events, simply visit
