Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Nguyen Quang Vinh recently had a meeting and worked with a high-level delegation from Weihai City, Shandong Province, China, led by Mr. Yan Jiabo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Weihai City.

The two sides discussed many specific directions to strengthen connections and create favorable conditions for the business communities of both sides in the coming time.

The Secretary of the Party Committee of Weihai City highly appreciated the role and influence of VCCI in connecting the business community, and introduced the economic potential and industrial and seaport strengths of Weihai.

Currently, Weihai City in particular and Shandong Province in general have a strongly developed industrial base, especially in the chemical, metallurgical, electronics, tire manufacturing industries... Weihai enterprises have experience in developing strong industries such as manufacturing industry, high-quality seafood farming and processing, port management and operation...

In the coming time, Mr. Yan Jiabo said that the two sides need to promote the exchange of delegations of leaders and enterprises to concretize practical cooperation ideas.

Weihai City will proactively organize and facilitate high-quality business delegations, representing its strong industries, to visit Vietnam to directly meet and establish partnerships with Vietnamese enterprises, and at the same time share experiences in developing strong industries.

Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Yan Jiabo also hoped that VCCI would increase the exchange of information on investment partners and potential projects so that Vietnamese enterprises and Weihai City could better understand each other, thereby attracting investment capital and technology in areas of mutual interest.

Listening to the proposals from the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Weihai City, Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh expressed his joy at the increasingly developing economic and trade relations between Vietnam and China, including Shandong Province and Weihai City.

Emphasizing the role of VCCI, the VCCI Vice Chairman also said that the two sides need to increase the sharing of information and project portfolios so that businesses can make effective investment decisions.

VCCI pledged to increase the sharing of information on the investment and business environment in Vietnam, especially preferential policies and industry development plans for businesses in Weihai City in particular and Shandong Province in general, especially high-quality, environmentally friendly projects, so that businesses in Weihai can easily research and seize opportunities.

In addition, the Vice Chairman of VCCI also suggested that the two sides need to coordinate closely, concretizing with practical actions such as coordinating with Weihai to organize Vietnamese business delegations to survey the market in this port city, learn directly about industrial parks, supply chains and investment and trade cooperation opportunities.

In return, VCCI will also provide maximum support when business delegations from Weihai city visit and seek partners in Vietnam.

The Vice Chairman of VCCI also emphasized that in the context of the global economy is strongly transforming, businesses need to promote cooperation in emerging fields such as digital economy, e-commerce, tourism, green industry and digital transformation, innovation. These are fields that will create new and sustainable growth momentum for both sides.
