VCCI - a bridge connecting the business community with the Party and the State

According to the Announcement of the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations, comrade Ho Sy Hung, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Finance was transferred and appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the term 2025 - 2030.

Speaking at the Conference, comrade Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations expressed his joy and sent to the Party Committee of VCCI and comrade Ho Sy Hung the best wishes of comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Comrade Ho Sy Hung received the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central organizations.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1963, is a national organization that gathers and represents the business community, entrepreneurs, employers and business associations in Vietnam. Since its establishment, VCCI has continuously developed, marking a strong transformation, perfecting its apparatus, expanding international cooperation activities, promoting its role as a bridge between the business community and the State. To date, VCCI has grown to more than 200,000 affiliated members nationwide from all economic sectors.

Entering the period of innovation, the Party and State pay special attention to economic development, issuing many policies, mechanisms, creating all conditions for businesses and entrepreneurs to produce and do business, creating jobs and contributing to the economic development of the country. In particular, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW dated December 9, 2011 on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization and international integration. In this Resolution, the Politburo requested to consolidate, improve and improve the quality of VCCI's operations as a strong socio-political and professional organization of the business community, business associations and employers in Vietnam.

Along with that is Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW, dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period. In particular, on May 4, 2025, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development. The Resolution identifies that the private economy is the most important driving force of the national economy. Along with the State economy and collective economy, the private economy plays a core role in building an independent, autonomous, self-reliant, and self-reliant economy associated with deep, substantial, and effective international integration, helping the country escape the risk of falling behind and develop prosperously.

“At the Central Executive Committee Conference, opinions were given on the socio-economic development plan for 2025 and 2026, in which the efforts of the Government, central ministries, localities and especially the business community were highly appreciated in promoting the economy and maintaining the macro-economy. The Ministry of Finance estimated the expected economic growth rate at 8%, the highest in the region and among the world's leading groups, with the important role of the Vietnamese business community, including the leading role of VCCI”, Comrade Nguyen Phi Long emphasized.

Regarding the Party organization, the VCCI Party Committee was established in February 2025 as a grassroots Party Committee with 24 Party organizations, 379 Party members, an Executive Committee of 20 comrades, and a Standing Committee of 5 comrades.

Comrade Nguyen Phi Long affirmed that since its establishment and operation, the Party and State have always recognized and promoted the role and position of VCCI in contributing to the country's economic development in the context of the entire political system and the Vietnam Fatherland Front system continuing to streamline the apparatus, implementing Conclusions No. 126-KL/TW and No. 174-KL/TW of the Politburo and the Secretariat.

“The selection of the leadership of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry was carefully considered and examined by the Party Central Committee Secretariat on many aspects. To meet that requirement, the Party Central Committee Secretariat decided to let comrade Ho Sy Hung stop participating in the Standing Committee, stop participating in the Deputy Minister of Finance, transfer and appoint him to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the 2025 - 2030 term. At the same time, he introduced the election of the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the 2021 - 2026 term, demonstrating the Secretariat's attention to the work of key officials of VCCI”, comrade Nguyen Phi Long emphasized.

In particular, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and the Central organizations affirmed that comrade Ho Sy Hung is a well-trained cadre, recognized as an Associate Professor of Economics in 2012, and has held many different positions.

"Wherever he is, in whatever position he holds, comrade Ho Sy Hung always shows high responsibility in his work, completes all assigned tasks well, and is ready to receive and complete all tasks assigned by the Party", comrade Nguyen Phi Long affirmed. At the same time, he believes that with his new responsibility, comrade Ho Sy Hung will continue to promote his good qualities and valuable work experience to unite with the leaders of VCCI, continue to promote the development of VCCI worthy of the expectations of the Party, the State and the business community.

To successfully implement the Resolution of the VCCI Party Committee and the political tasks of VCCI, Comrade Nguyen Phi Long requested the Party Committee, Party Committee, and Leaders of VCCI to be determined to perform a number of tasks well.

Firstly, the leaders organized the Conference to implement the policy of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on introducing Comrade Ho Sy Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee to be elected as Chairman of VCCI for the 2021-2026 term as soon as possible in accordance with regulations.

Secondly, continue to pay attention to the work of building a clean and strong Party, especially the comprehensive leadership role of the Party Committee of VCCI in the activities in the coming time. Strengthen education, politics, ideology, ethics, lifestyle, promote the exemplary role of cadres and party members, especially the leaders.

 

Third, pay attention to training and arranging staff, focusing mainly on the functions and tasks of VCCI as stipulated in the charter.

Fourth, continue to review the 6 key tasks and solutions and 3 strategic breakthroughs set forth by the VCCI Congress for the 2021-2026 term, develop the team of entrepreneurs in both quantity and quality, and pioneer in developing business culture.

Fifth, continue to research and thoroughly implement specific contents into the VCCI's work program, important Resolutions of the Party such as Resolution 41, Resolution 57, Resolution 59 and especially Resolution 68 on private economic development.

Comrade Nguyen Phi Long suggested that VCCI identify itself as a bridge between enterprises and the State, contributing to economic growth of 8% this year and 10% in the following years. Speaking when taking up the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) for the 2025-2030 term, comrade Ho Sy Hung, Secretary of the VCCI Party Committee, expressed his honor and emotion at being entrusted with the important responsibility by the Central Party Secretariat, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central organizations.

 

Comrade Ho Sy Hung, Secretary of the VCCI Party Committee, delivered a speech accepting the assignment.

Expressing his deep gratitude to the Party Central Committee Secretariat, especially Comrade To Lam, Politburo member, General Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and leaders of the Central agencies for entrusting him with the important responsibility, Comrade Ho Sy Hung affirmed that he will strive to complete the task well, especially the 5 key tasks emphasized by Comrade Phi Long in his speech.

Comrade Ho Sy Hung also expressed his gratitude to Comrade Nguyen Van Thang - Party Committee Secretary, Minister of Finance, who has helped and shared many valuable experiences during his work, which are important provisions for him to successfully complete his new task at VCCI.

At the same time, comrade Ho Sy Hung expressed his respect and gratitude to generations of leaders, cadres, party members and workers of VCCI, especially comrade Pham Tan Cong - Secretary of the Party Delegation, Secretary of the Party Committee of VCCI during the period 2021-2025, who contributed to building the stature and position of VCCI as it is today.

On that basis, VCCI will continue to build a team of entrepreneurs with aspirations, bravery, national spirit and high intellectual capacity, capable of reaching out to the world, participating deeply in the global value chain, contributing to building a self-reliant, strong and prosperous economy.

Comrade Ho Sy Hung also affirmed that these orientations have been fostered in Resolution 41-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on developing the private economy.

“I pledge to be the nucleus of solidarity, innovation and creativity, together with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of VCCI, determined to successfully carry out the goals and tasks assigned by the Party and the Fatherland Front. Together with the business community, we will strive to contribute to economic growth, striving to achieve over 8% this year and over 10% in the following years,” Comrade Ho Sy Hung affirmed.
