The General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) has asked the Customs departments of Ha Noi and HCM City to quickly perform customs clearance within a day for aid shipments for Covid prevention and control.

The vaccine batch is quickly cleared and put into storage.

Some ministries and sectors have proposed the GDVC to support in implementing fast customs clearance for shipments of medical supplies, equipment, medicine, vaccines and biological products provided by foreign organisations to Vietnam and vice versa, or imported by Vietnamese enterprises for the disease prevention and control.

o ensure quick customs clearance of goods to serve medical examination and treatment, the GDVC has asked the departments to direct Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch and Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch to give priority in customs clearance for these shipments. They were also told to strictly handle officers who have troublesome attitudes and prolong customs clearance time.

If there are problems, customs branches must report to the GDVC in a timely fashion via Zalo or email.

The two major customs departments have coordinated with authorities to clear vaccine shipments imported from abroad to Vietnam.
