National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on October 15-16 safely repatriated 370 Vietnamese citizens left stranded in Russia due to the impact of the COVID-19.

More Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas due to the COVID-19 pandemic
will be brought home in the coming time under the Prime Minister's direction.

Passengers on board the repatriation flight were minors under 18, elderly people, pregnant women, sick people, guest workers with expired visas and labour contracts, students without accommodation, among others.

The Vietnamese embassy in Russia worked closely with relevant agencies of the host country to facilitate the citizens’ travel and assist them with necessary procedures before departure.

Vietnam Airlines implemented necessary epidemiological measures during the flight to prevent possible spread of the virus.

Upon arriving at Van Don International Airport, northern Vietnam, all passengers were examined and quarantined according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

Vietnamese authorities are arranging more repatriation flights to bring home more Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas in accordance with the epidemic situation and isolation capacity in the country.
